当館では、箱根出身・箱根在住の写真家、
遠藤 桂（えんどう かつら）による富士山作品を常設展示しております。
日本有数の風光明媚な観光地・箱根に生まれ、 風景写真家の祖父と営業写真を専門とする父を持ち、天命の仕事である写真家として活動を続ける氏がライフワークとして撮影を続ける富士山作品。
自身の原点ともいえる富士山と対峙し、その神秘的な自然の造形美、時空間をフィルムに封じ込めていく。
大判フィルムカメラで撮影を続けるスタイルを守りながら、独自の世界観を表現しています。
※常設展示室の作品は年3回ほど、入替を行っております。
Our permanent exhibition featuring photographs by Katsura ENDO of Mt. Fuji throughout the seasons, the 2F Gallery presents the Osui YAMADA collection and special exhibitions by photographers working in a variety of fields.
写真家・遠藤 桂 （えんどうかつら）
1958年 箱根に生まれる。
1978年 東京写真大学短期大学部（現：東京工芸大学）卒業。
1979-80年 ヒマラヤ冬期解禁に伴い、アイランドピーク遠征。
1982-87年 広告写真家・トシ若林氏に師事。
1991年 写真事務所OASIS設立し、独立。
広告写真家として数々のプロジェクトに参加するほか、自身の作品「富士山」シリーズ、「欧州風景」シリーズ等を国内外の個展にて発表。
ライフワークとして撮り続ける富士山作品は2003年よりパリでも定期的に作品を発表するなど、 精力的に活動を続ける。
Photographer ENDO Katsura
ENDO Katsura was born in the scenic resort of Hakone, at the foot of Mt. Fuji. His grandfather was a nature photographer and his father a commercial photographer, resulting in him having been closely involved in photography his whole life. He confronts his subjects deliberately, capturing time/space on film using a unique style he calls, ‘fingerpainting with light’, to capture the energy of nature and the flow of time within his works.
